HAPPY 6TH ANNIVERSARY LOTRO!!

Happy 6th Anniversary to one of my favorite games of all time! 

This marks my second anniversary festival on Lotro (yeahah!). Once again, A Casual Stroll to Mordor has kindly provided us with the guide to this years festival activities and rewards. The worst of the changes to this festival is that (I am loathed to say) there are NO new character cosmetic items. I'm sure a lot of cosmetic blogs are bummin' right now. However, all is not lost - war steed apparels are said to be dropping from the letters in Bree (I will definitely post an outfit, should I acquire one). Everyone enjoy yourselves and shoot off lots of fireworks!

So it begins . . .

Well, I'm officially in Rohan! I logged on around late afternoon today (Oct15) and was lucky enough not to run into any of the log-in issues that everyone is complaining about on Facebook. It took about an hour-and-a-half to download the patch, and before long I was off and galloping. I have never in all my time on Lotro seen Lothlorien so packed with people - it was like Disney World around spring break! Lag was aweful. Vilya is said to be one of the lesser-crowded severs, so I can't imagine what you folks on Landroval or Arkenstone are going through. On a brighter note, I am loving mounted combat! Other bloggers who have said it takes a while to get used to weren't lying. I found the heavy war-steed is the least buggy and the easiest to control, not to mention the prettiest and most unique-looking. Stay tuned for some cool outfits coming this way!

Riders of Rohan sneak peak

Granted, this is not a cosmetic post -but I had to share this.

Massively Joystiq just recently came out with an article detailing the mount customization we are going to be seeing with the Riders of Rohan expansion, coming out this September. It also gives us more insight on the mounted combat mechanics, as well as additional sneak peaks of the general Rohan landscape.

I was excited when I first heard Turbine was going to do something new with our mounts - but now that I've actually seen it . . . I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED! This is going to take cosmetics to a whole new level for everyone who enjoys that particular aspect of lotro. Just a couple more months, I keep telling myself :)

Keep up the awesome work, Turbine! Hopefully we'll see more as the weeks go by.

I've been playing LOTRO for over a year now, and I've finally worked up the nerve to create my own spot on the web about the awesome cosmetic system in the game.
