Demoness of the Plains

There are fouler things then orcs roaming the hills of the Horse-Lords. The presence of the Nazgûl has awakened unspeakable evil within the crypts of Rohan.

During the Second Age, there was once a terrible Rohan warrior-maiden named Sarotha, whose skill of combat astride a war-steed had no equal. Her cruelty and malice were only equaled by her unquenchable thirst for blood and the agonizing screams of her victims. She became known as the Demoness of the Plains by those who managed to escape her wrath.

Legions of orcs rallied to Sarotha's horn, and she led them mercilessly against the people of Rohan; burning and killing without restraint, the plains of grass were stained red with the blood of innocents by night, and the morning sky would always be ablaze with the Red Dawn. For a time, there seemed no way to stop her, until a noble Horse-Lord ended her terror by meetings her bravely in combat. On the fields of Norcroft, their armies did battle atop their steeds for hours, neither side able to gain the upper hand, until at last the Horse-Lord dealt a fatal strike to Sarotha. Before death took her, she uttered one last threat: "You have not seen the last of me, sons of Eorl! Death itself shall not keep me from seeing every last one of you vanquished beneath the hooves of my steed!"

The Rohirrim defeated the last of her legion, and burned Sarotha's body, gathered the ashes, and threw them down into a subterranean river inside one of their oldest crypts. The Horse-Lord, who was now hailed as a hero, was confident that it was the last he would ever hear of the Demoness of the Plains.
Unfortunately, the greatest evils of the land were not yet defeated . . .

It is now the Third Age, and there are rumors of a ghostly rider astride a demonic war-steed, wreathed in flames, charging at full speed across the fields of Norcroft, with the bone-chilling sound of a battle-horn sounding in it's wake. As if rumors of winged terrors in the sky were bad enough! The spectators say it only appears on cloudless nights, when the moon is half full, and those unfortunate to cross it's path are never heard from again!

But seriously, what sort of fool could belief such a tale? It most certainly could not be true . . .
could it?

Woooooooo! Halloween is around the corner, and I busted my TP bank by purchasing the Bone caparison for my war-steed. Yikes, now that was scary. 995 tp for a full outfit seems reasonable enough since you get 5 pieces total, and I'm completely in love with it - but still - I am seriously going to have to regulate my war-steed purchases. I gave myself a pat on the back when I saved 6 months worth of VIP tp and was able to buy a few color packs when RoR launched, but now I'm back to square one, and I'm going to be fighting a lot of temptation when Turbine starts to seriously role out the war-steed cosmetics. Dun, dun, DUN!

Anyway, I hoped you enjoyed my little attempt at a semi-horror/action story. I love writing fiction, it's been a hobby of mine since I was very little. And I hope you love the outfit! Like I said, Halloween is just around the corner and I wanted an outfit that (hopefully) caught the mood - black and twisted. My eyes were like this O.O when I first tried the "Trample" trait on the Heavy war-steed. The fiery animation just took my breath away as I thundered right into a warband, sending them flying in every direction. Mounted combat is so, incredibly fun, I can't even begin to truely describe how awesome it is, in my opinion.

Enjoy the outfit!

  2. ditto to Cosmeticlotro's comment!

Your story really meshed well with the amazing shots. I had not seen the bone outfit; my jaw dropped how well you pulled that off and had the perfect matching outfit. That mystical orange glow is just freaky!
